The world famous 'flamingo city' is located in the mudflats of the Rann, at the distance of around 10 kIn from the Nir out-post on Kala Dungar. Hundreds or thousands of greater flamingos breed here, normally during the year at the optimum level of inundation.
You can term it as a Nal Sarovar of Kutch. However, Nal sarovar has no hill in it’s background or proximity but Chhari Dhand has beautiful hill side just behind it and that makes it more beautiful than Nal sarovar. Also Nal sarovar is no more a virgin place.
